I am John Toth, and I am proud to serve as the North Coast Building Industry Association (NCBIA) President for 2025.
The North Coast Building Industry Association serves all Erie, Huron, and Lorain counties. Since its founding in 1944, our members have been integral to our communities’ growth and economic development. Established as a not-for-profit affiliate of the Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the NCBIA represents home builders and other businesses directly related to the home building industry. Our membership includes builders, remodelers, tradespeople, and associated professionals collectively representing the residential construction industry in our region. We uphold the principles of the free enterprise system and the American Way of Life.
About OHBA
The Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA) is a trade organization with more than 4,000 members representing home builders and housing industry associates. It advocates for the industry on legislative and regulatory issues affecting residential building across Ohio, including wetlands, affordable housing, and workers’ compensation. OHBA provides proactive involvement in state issues and serves as the voice of the building industry at the state level.
About NAHB
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is one of the most significant trade associations in the United States. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., its mission is “to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry.” Founded in 1942, NAHB is a federation of over 800 state and local associations with over 140,000 members. Approximately one-third of NAHB members are home builders or remodelers, while the rest work in related fields such as mortgage finance, electrical, plumbing, and building product services.
NAHB’s activities include analyzing policy issues, engaging with the public, monitoring housing finance systems, forecasting economic and consumer trends, and providing educational resources to members. NAHB also represents the industry’s interests on Capitol Hill, works with federal agencies on regulatory matters, and maintains the NAHB Research Center.
