The overall inflation rate, along with the cost of housing, showed signs of cooling in March. Also, in March, single-family starts improved and new home sales were up. In response, builders remained cautiously optimistic in April.
In Washington, 64 lawmakers called on Department of Energy to scrap the proposed transformer rule. And in a move supported by NAHB, Congress introduced an Endangered Species act resolution to define the word “habitat.”
During tax season, an NAHB analysis of IRS data found that taxpayers are taking advantage of new home energy-efficiency related tax credits.
