In today’s ever-growing economy, many are looking at starting projects around the house. Whether it be something as simple as sprucing up the landscaping to as big as a complete addition to the home. The one thing that I strongly recommend is, that whatever type of project you might be starting, you find a contractor that is a perfect fit for the job. There are many things to look for when booking a contractor. The first, and in my opinion, one of the most important, is to find a contractor that is licensed in their field. This means that this individual or company has met the qualifications mandated by the state of Ohio. You can simply ask for a copy of their license or check the Ohio Department of Commerce’s website to see if they are listed.

Another important thing to check is that the individual or company has a general liability insurance policy as well as workers comp insurance. Your contractor’s insurance policy helps to protect you and your family from being responsible should an injury happen while the work is being completed. Experience is also a vital thing to check when interviewing contractors for your project as well because you want to make sure they can provide you with quality workmanship. Always check for positive reviews on the contractor you are looking to hire. Do your research and find reviews on the company. In today’s digitally driven world, there are many ways to look up past customers experiences with a company or individual and see if they were satisfied with the contractor’s performance. Do not be afraid to ask them if they have testimonials or letters of reference from past clients.
