It is that time of year, when I and many of our members attend the 2020 International Builders’ Show.  An optimistic home building industry filled the exhibit halls of Las Vegas Convention Center as the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) International Builders’ Show® (IBS) Jan. 21-23.

The show is the largest annual light construction show in the world – – with miles and miles of the latest and most advanced building products and services ever assembled.  Bringing together more than 1,400 top manufacturers and suppliers from around the globe in 600,000 square feet of exhibit space.

With 150+ education sessions in 7 tracks, IBS contains learning opportunities for every segment of the industry.   Learning from the top minds in building and gain the knowledge to develop and further enhance businesses.  With topics ranging from sales and marketing to construction and codes, there is literally something for everyone,

Attendees were able to tour the two official show homesThe New American Home® (TNAH), located in Henderson, Nevada, is distinguished by incorporating a wide variety of contemporary-modern design, characterized by minimal decoration, abundant glass and flat rooflines. The New American Remodel™ (TNAR), is a true showcase of innovation and design in today’s home, exhibiting the latest trends in the housing industry and advancements in technology and energy-efficiency.

Baseball legend-turned-business powerhouse, Alex Rodriguez headlined the Design and Construction Week Opening Ceremonies.   Best known for his accomplishments on the baseball field, Alex Rodriguez is a 3-time MVP, a 14-time all-star and a 2009 World Series Champion with the New York Yankees.

Each year, a tremendous amount of work goes into making IBS an extremely valuable, can’t-miss event for anyone in residential construction.  Once again, the show was an incredible success with enthusiasm reflective of the momentum in the home building industry.

The 2020 Builders Exhibitors were extremely busy all week.  People are eager to know what’s new, from entry-level and do-it-yourself, to higher price point homes.
