Government & Advocacy

NCBIA Members are always working to make sure that your voice is heard at the local, state and national level. We have two committees that make this possible at the local level. The Codes Committee meets quarterly with area building officials to discuss changes in the building codes and to bring issues to the surface. The Government Affairs Committee meets quarterly with local political powers to bring industry issues to the forefront.

Codes Committee

The Codes Committee meets quarterly and works with the association’s membership and government officials within the community on matters concerning local building codes, ordinances, rules and/or regulations affecting the construction of housing in the community.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee meets quarterly also and oversees and coordinates the government affairs activities and programs of the association in order to execute the association’s goals and objectives. The committee works closely with the Ohio Home Builders Association (OHBA) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) on state and national legislation.

Build PAC

The North Coast BIA Build PAC is the political action committee for our association. It provides financial support to political candidates who understand and support the issues of the industry. The North Coast BIA Build PAC ensures the voices of our members are heard on industry-related issues.
