General Assembly Returns From Short Week – John Eklund was seated to replace former senator, now judge, Tim Grendell.

Residential Building Code – OHBA is working closely with the RCAC and the Governor’s office in a pilot project to determine the viability of a new code.  The process termed the Common Sense Initiative attempts to create an atmosphere of cooperation between the state and the industry to be regulated.

CSPA – We expect a bill to be introduced today that will grant relief from the CSPA.

Construction Incentives – The tax credit bill would provide tax credits for purchasers who contract to have a new home constructed.  The bill would have unsold but developed lots valued and taxed at the value as established before development.
